Hey everyone!!!!
Geo here for the second to last post of the ENTIRE PROJECT :(((((
(
It was fun while it lasted, but more on that later ;))
Right now though, I'm gonna talk about some real stuff, things that could be better, worse, and how they could be the former, or latter, and the way i'll be doing that is a simple sort of podcast, but I'll leave a (rough) transcript here, just in case you aren't able to follow along.
-How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues?
"Our product uses a very normal way of representing social groups and issues, although dark, it is a very normal thing to see people of color discriminated against these days, those issues are then spotlit in our opening, so maybe if it gets recognition, more people will realize the criminal injustices of the law."
-How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text?
"Our project engages audiences in the ways that it's a current, relevant, and long-fought battle against discrimination and racism, as far as real media text, i'm not too sure what that means but, we would distribute it freely, not public domain, but under fair use and such, uploading it to youtube, and other social media sites."
-How did your production skills develop throughout this project?
"Well to be quite honest with you, I've known since the beginning that we would do this close to last minute and we'd cut it really close, and we did, (still are actually, at the time of me reading/writing this, the video isn't even done yet) but I think with a lot more effort and ability, we can set up a good schedule next time, and be on track."
-How did you integrate technologies – software, hardware and online – in this project?
"A lot of our research was done online, such as genres, lighting, angles, stuff like that, and as far as software and hardware go, we used a lot of LED lights for our filming, although there wasn't much integrated into the actual project that you can see, the behind the scenes was a technological wonderland, DSLR's , colored lights, audio recorders, laptops, things such as that made our difficult time so much easier, even if they weren't present on screen."
So I mean yeah guys, thats it I think for my reflection, it was wonderful working with so many talented people throughout the making of this project and honestly even though it was super stressful, I had a blast making it and I hope all my future projects are as much fun as this one.
